5 Pins for Friday

This Friday I am showing y'all my last big party theme contender:

Sunshine Party
I actually toyed with the idea of calling it a pink lemonade party, but I so love the idea of a "you are my sunshine" themed invite that I am going to call this a sunshine party with pops of pink!

Invitation
I am absolutely in love with this invitation. The whimsy in the writing is amazing. The envelope liner is awesome. Everything about it I adore. The wording is fantastic "bright at the sun our little zoe is turning one".

Invitation
Here is another invitation that is pretty awesome too. Bonus the wording is not depending on it flowing with sun!

Party Hat
I love the big yarn pom on the top of this party hat. You could even make some to hot glue to cheapo hats for all the guests.

Balloons
Remember I said pops of pink? What's better than hot pink balloons?! A good idea would be to attache the streamer to the knot of each balloon.

Tablescape
Again, more pops of pink with the food drinks a flowers. Just a little to break up all the yellow.

There are so many things that can be done with this theme, just searching yellow and pink party on Pinterest brings up so much inspiration! For more on what I have pinned check out my full sunshine party board here.

So, now that I have shown y'all my big 4 contenders be sure to vote on your favorite theme! I added a poll to the side over there that will be up for a week. So, everyone vote! Even you lurkers out there!

Here is a list to the other 3 themes:
Rainbow Party
Dr. Seuss Party
Sock Monkey Party

Of course I am linking up with Kat!

5 Pins for Friday

Yikes, sorry I have not done these the past two weeks! What can I say, life got in the way and my Thursday nights were occupied with other things. BUT, I am back this week with an AMAZING birthday party theme!

Rainbow Party Theme

Invitation
I have a few other invites pinned, but this is one of my favorites, I love the striped banner across the top and the colorful name.

Balloons!
What's a party without balloons?! While this is not the best picture of balloons, I love that they have those GIANT balloons mixed in with the regular ones. (Here is a better picture of the balloon garland I would like to do.)

Ruffled Table Skirt
I die.

Rainbow Streamers
This is probably one of my favorite things I have found. I mean you can't get much cheaper than crepe paper streamers. Instead of streaming them like this I think I would try streaming them outside between our wedding lights like this pin, if the weather is nice.

Colorful Drinks
There are so many fun colored/fruit sodas/drinks out thjavascript:void(0)ere these days that putting something like this together would be just a quick trip to the grocery store. Plus, it's pretty, so what if no one wants to drink that last blueberry soda!

It was SO HARD to keep this down to 5 pins, so pleeeeease go check out my full board on Pinterest. I have cakes, outfits and more fun ideas pinned!

5 Pins for Friday

Today's birthday party theme is:

Dr. Seuss Party

Invite Inspiration
I am pretty sure this is not an invitation, but I just love all the colors and papers and balloons!

Party Dress
Oh. My. Gosh. How cute is that dress? I am sure I could get the seller (the dress is from Etsy.) to make a 1 year old version.

Guest Book
This is such a great idea! You have the guests sign the book!

Table Decorations
I think this is a good overview inspiration picture!

Cupcakes
What a brilliant idea, cotton candy as the topping!

My ideas on this party theme:
I think this would be a pretty easy theme to roll with. All your decorations just need to be bright blue, red and yellow with some polka-dots and stripes thrown in.  Strew about some Dr. Seuss book on tables and you are good to go! 5 Pins for Friday

I have decided it's about time I get to thinking about Sadie's 1st birthday party. Yes! I know she just turned 6 months old but with her birthday being so soon after the holidays I know I will be pressed for time come January and don't want to have to just slap something together. So, over the next few weeks my Friday Pins are going to focus around birthday party themes I am considering for Sadie May, each week = 1 theme. Then, once a theme is decided on I'll let you all in on it and then the planning can begin!

A Sock Monkey Birthday Party

Invite
Super cute idea to take a picture of your baby in a sock monkey hat or with a sock monkey and include it on the invite.

Onesie and Party Hat
How adorable is this onesie and party hat? You could get cheap red and brown hats for the rest of the guests and glue a pom to the top of them so they all flow together.

Decorate Your Own Sock Monkey Station
I LOVE this idea, especially if you are going to have lots of kids at your party

Banana Pudding
Need I say more? This is a MUST, in my book, for any Sock Monkey Party!

Table & Favor
This shows a great layout idea for a food table, generally anything brown and red will fit in great. There is a bit too much candy/sweets going on for me so I think I would try and use more red and brown containers. Then, I love the idea of the cookies in a jar for guests to take home with them. Quick, easy and cheap favors are great!

My ideas on this party idea:
I think this theme is pretty gender neutral, which is always nice you can save decorations and use them for the next baby! But if you little girl is a princess you can always exchange all the red for pink, I have been seeing a ton of pick sock monkey stuff lately. Overall, I really like this theme and I like that it's not overly pink and girly, I'm sure I'll get plenty of that in the coming years. If you want to see more of what I have pinned, and keep pinning, for this theme check out my Sock Monkey Party board on Pintrest!

5 Pins for Friday

Today my pins are centered around DIYs for Sadie-cakes. Rumor has it that hubs is going to be out of town for pretty much the next two months so I need some tasks to occupy my evenings, there's only so much house cleaning (psh!), book reading (hunger games series) and bad tv watching (big brother) I can do before I've had enough. I'm linking up with Kat again, so go check out her Friday 5 (pretttty funny today)!

Bandanna Dress
I imagine Sadie is still a smidgen too little for one of these, but I can make a bunch and stock-pile them for next spring/summer. It will be super cute come fair/rodeo time. BONUS: it can double as a tunic as she gets taller.

Hankie Dress
Same idea as the bandanna dress, but a bit cleaner. There is an antique store right by my office, I will have to search it for cute hankies one day at lunch!

Reversible Tunic/Dress
This one is a little more ambitious for me, but I love that it's reversible and again can be a top as Sadie gets taller.

Different Hair Flower/Bow Tutorials
I'm not huge on putting stuff on Sadie's head, mainly because I hate having crap on my head, but I think ONE of the 4 on this one would be ok.

Baby Glam Necklace T
How freaking adorable is this? And get this, it's fabric paint, no buttons or beads to get yanked off and choked on!

Easy No-Sew Tutu
Go look at this tutorial, for reals, so easy! Even an un-crafty person could pull this off!

Hmm, have you been counting? That was totally 6, oh well, I just couldn't narrow it down!
Got any other tutorials I should consider adding to my list?

5 Pins for Friday

Orange Sauce for Orange Chicken
I love Panda Express' Orange Chicken so I've always wanted to try making it at home but with non-breaded/fried chicken. This orange sauce sounds like a pretty good match!

Family Tree Finger Print Christmas Card
I'm not really thinking about Christmas cards yet, but how cute would this be to do a few years down the road when we are done have kiddos. We could even include a paw print from the dogs!

Painted door mat
I don't love the chevrons, but I do like the tutorial for painting the rug. We have a rug just like that by our back door that is supposed to help keep the dogs from tracking so much dirt in.

Baby in a Pumpkin
How freaking adorable is this? I HAVE to do this with Sadie come Fall.

Dark Chocolate Caramel Nutella Pretzel Twix Bars
Now, I am not a huge Nutella fan, so I would probably replace that with some creamy peanut butter, yummm! Nothing better than that pretzel,  peanut butter, chocolate combo!

5 Pins for Friday

Roadside Signs Place Mats
This is a package of 36 tear off place mats, wouldn't they be awesome to frame and hang in a kitchen?

Texas Themed Onsies
I really must recreate a few of these for Miss Sadie, I MUST.

Parrot Costume
I am so excited about Halloween this year!

Present Idea
I love the idea of this for father's day or for g'parents at Christmas.

Cake of Oreos
I die. Give me that and a gallon of milk and I'll see you Monday.

5 Pins for Friday

I decided to start linking these up to Kat's Friday Five this week, especially since one of her 5 is that she still has no idea what Pinterest is!

Reclaimed Wood Panel Wall
Oh man, I need to do this somewhere in my house.

Peanut Butter Cup Crunch Brownie Bars
I have an obsession with all things peanut butter and chocolate, so these brownie bars are right up my alley.

The Rescuing Hug
Such a sweet image. (Thanks Brittany for pinning this.)

Magazine Storage from Cereal Boxes
I have a million and a half magazines laying around my house that I am thisclose to tossing out (recycling), these MIGHT save their lives.
