Symon Sundays: Take Four

This week for Symon Sundays tomato soup and a fennel salad were the dishes! More specific a spicy bleu cheese tomato soup. I was very impressed with my local grocery store, it had everything for the tomato soup! Even the specific type of canned tomatoes! Sadly they were out of the hot sauce the recipe called for. But since I am not a spicy person anyways, I figured it would be for the better. After making a giant mess in my kitchen (I didn't have the lid on the blender well and I was not holding it down well either!) I was excited to sit down and try this soup to see if it was worth the mess! It was pretty good!! The you could really taste the bleu cheese, it was almost too much, but maybe the hot sauce would of helped to offset that. I think I would prefer it to be a little more tomato-y next time, maybe add some tomato paste? More canned tomatoes? I am not sure, any suggestions? All in all it was a good dish! I skipped on the fennel salad since I had some spinach going to waste in my fridge and I served a grilled cheese with it all, what's better than tomato soup and grilled cheese??

  2. Hey Meredith! I actually just posted on facebook that I wanted to start a book club and a bunch of girls commented saying they'd be interested. It ended up being a mix of friends, casual acquatances and friends of friends. I wish you lived a little closer and you could join ours!
