Lets Talk 1st Birthday - Cake!

What is the most important part of any good party? Of course! The cake! While I have decided on what we are going to be doing for Sadie's party, I wanted to share some of the inspiration I found along the way.

I love how sweet this one is, just soft and simple and... sweet! If I were to do this one, I wouldn't use fondant to cover the cake, but I am not a big fondant fan. Plus, how adorable would a mini version of this be for a smash cake!

I am in love with the banner on this one (in fact it just might make an appearance at Sadie's party!) plus the polka dots!

I love the idea of having someway to display cupcakes, if you go the cupcake route. I think this particular one is a bit to girly for my tastes, but looks like it could be diyed pretty easy and the tulle could always be replaced... ruffled burlap, anyone? I also love the alternating pink and yellow colors with the cupcakes and frosting.

This is another sweet and simple one. Although, I don't think I could make half circles that perfect, so maybe it's not all that simple! I would say this size is probably more suited for a wedding than a party, but you could always just do the bottom tier with the top little one on top of it as the smash cake.

Now we're getting somewhere! How adorable are these two? Just like individual cups of pink lemonade. The lemon sugared candies on the bottom on are really cute, but you'd probably save some cash just doing the lemon curls like the first one or a lemon wedge would be even easier!

I tried a sample of our cake flavor this week and it is sooo good. No, I am not going to tell you what it is! I can't wait for the actual party, just so I can have another bite!
