4th of July

It's funny how a year can change things. Last 4th of July Robert and I were headed to Colorado with his mom and step-dad to spend the weekend with them and his step-dad's parents. On the way we stopped at a Mexican food restaurant for lunch in Trinidad, Colorado (fun fact: Trinidad is known as the Sex Change Capital of the U.S., who knew?) as we were getting out of the car Robert handed his mom an envelope with this inside of it:
Mini Sadie!
I was a little over 8 weeks pregnant then, none of it seemed real, honestly none of it felt real until about 6 months! It was way sooner than I wanted to start telling people, but we see our families so rarely that we figured we should take the opportunity that we had to be with them when sharing the news. Also, we figured if anything bad happened before the "safe" time to start telling people of 14 weeks we would still tell our families, I mean we would of needed our families support to get through anything so why wait until something bad happens to share our news?

It's sort of turning into a tradition to spend 4th of July with Robert's mom and step-dad. We didn't plan it that way, it just sort of keeps happening. This year though we get to hang out with this little thing:
Way more fun to play with than Mini Sadie!
I hope all of you have a safe, happy and fun 4th!
